Breast Reduction
Of all plastic surgery procedures breast reduction is the one that has the highest success rate and most satisfaction. Many of the women who attend our clinic suffer from excessively large and heavy breasts. The weight can cause backache and lesions of the skin caused by bras that dig in because they cannot support the weight of the breast. Many of these women have suffered for years before surgery. They often try to hide their breasts by wearing baggy clothes. The breast reduction removes volume and lifts the breasts to a more natural position. The breast looks and feels firmer and the patient regains confidence after the operation.
The procedure is carried out under general anesthetic and takes between 2 and 3 hours. The incision is made in a “T” shape around the nipple. The patient is required to stay 2 nights in hospital. We recommend two weeks rest after the operation. After this procedure it is not possible to breastfeed a baby.
The two weeks following surgery you will feel light pain, swelling and bruising, but these symptoms usually disappear after two weeks and you are recommended not to lift any weights for six weeks post op.
The first step is to make an appointment with our surgeons to assess how much to reduce the breast and the new size. Don’t forget that the consultations are free and with no obligation.
