We suggest you make notes of any questions you would like to ask the surgeon as it is easy to forget in the consultation, and also to bring someone with you if confidentiality is not an issue.

After the appointment with the surgeon the patient coordinator will confirm the cost and deal with the administration if you would like to proceed.

The appointment takes between half and one hour as the surgeon will examine you and explain his/her recommendations, advantages and risks. The surgeon will ask you questions about your lifestyle and medical history and give you the realistic expectations. This is important as the results are subjective so it is vital that everyone is clear.

This procedure is ideal for patients who have been overweight and have lost lots of weight as it can leave excess skin in the abdominal and buttock areas. This procedure removes excess skin from the body.

It is carried out under a general anesthetic and is normally carried out in two stages.

1. The patient is face down and the buttocks are lifted
2. The patient is face up and the abdominplasty is carried out.

We can also carry out the procedure to your specific requirements, for example remove excess skin from the arms.

An overnight stay is required and it is normal to have bruises and swelling and feel a little pain in the treated areas after the procedure. The initial recovery period is two weeks, but we recommend you rest for a month.
